Spiritual Benefits Of Fasting

Hello, friends! I am here again! I am here today to keep my promise to share with you the spiritual benefits of Ramadan. At first I am hoping that your Ramadan is going great than ever. Mine is going still busy but great too, and I hate being busy in the month of Ramadan.Though, in spite of many business, we should
always express gratitude to God. But I think this Holy month of Ramadan, which only comes once in a year, should be made little free by making the official activities lighter by the governments of the Islamic countries.

But anyways, lets try giving time to ourselves in this Ramadan so that we can worship Allah more and ask for our peace and  wellness. Actually we can pick any one of our negative points, as we all have some negatives in us, more or less, and resolute that we will practice on leaving this negative in this 30 days of  Ramadan, and pick another negative point in the next Ramadan. And I believe, by a few Ramadans, we will become a soulful person. Is not the idea just great, friends. I try following this in my life.

Above, I was just sharing some of my ideas to you all, now let us look at what are the spiritual benefits of Ramadan. But the real number of benefits of Ramadan fasting are only known by Allah and are countless.

Ramadan is the most important and special time for all Muslims around the world. As mentioned in our post on 10 July, 2013 named Ramadan Kareem, Ramadan is self - restraint, restraining every part of our body from all kinds of sinful and bad acts. In the Qur' an, Muslims are commanded to fast so that they may "learn self - restraint" (  Qur'an : 2:183 ).

Some of the most important spiritually beneficial points are viewed below :

1. Through fasting, a Muslim experiences hunger and thirst, and learns to sympathize with the poor of the world some of who even remain without eating for several days. And this sympathy makes a Muslim to feel for the poor and do sadka.

2.Through increased devotion, Muslims feel closer to their Creator, and recognize that everything that we have in this life is a blessing from Allah. And thus, teaches a Muslim practice gratitude.

3.Through increased charity, Muslims develop feelings of generosity and good will towards others. The Prophet Muhammad ( peace be upon Him ) once said, "A man's wealth is never diminished by charity".

4.Through self - control, a Muslim practices good manners, good speech and good habits.

5.Through changing habits, Muslims get a chance to establish more healthy lifestyle habits, particularly with regards to diets and smoking.

6.Through family and community gatherings, Muslims strengthen the bonds of brotherhood and sisterhood, in their own communities and throughout the world.

7. Doors of the heaven are open .

8. Doors of the hell are closed.

9. Devils are chained down.

10. Fasting with full devotion and Iman by the Muslims makes Allah to forgive their sins.

11.Every breath is a tasbiih. Every breath and even sleep is Ibadat and awarded during Ramadan.

The spiritual blessings of Ramadan fasting can also be grouped as follows :

1. Taqwa :

  1. Fearing Allah (SWT)
  2. Practicing the Revelations of Allah (SWT)
  3. Accepting the little things that one has achieved
  4. Preparing for departure from this world to the Hereafter
  5. Self-discipline
  6. Self-control
  7. Self-restraint
  8. Self-education
  9. Self-evaluation
2. Protection :
  1. Avoiding Immorality
  2. Avoiding anger/outcry/uproar
  3. Avoiding stupidity
  4. Avoiding all makrooh/mashbooh/haram
3. Revelation of Holy Qur' an :
  1. A Guidance to mankind
  2. A Manifestation of right from wrong
  3. A Summation and culmination of all previous revelations
  4. A Glad-tiding to the believers
  5. A Healer
  6. A Mercy
4.Umrah in Ramadan.Visiting Makkah during the fasting month of Ramadan is equal to :
  1. Equal to one Hajj (pilgrimage)
  2. Equal to one Hajj with Prophet Muhammad (pbuh).

5.Graveyard visitations. One will get the following benefits by visisting the graveyards during Ramadan :

  1. Dua for the deceased
  2. Preparing oneself for departure from this world
  3. Feeling respect for the deceased

7. Prepares a Muslim to the day oh Hereafter.

6. And finally, at the end of Ramadan comes the feast of Eid - Uk Fitr, where sharing of happiness and visitation of one another as members of the society helps make their relations good.

The devotion and restraint is purely felt during Ramadan fasting but the do you know friends actually what is the true goal of Ramadan? It is nothing but is the simple test to keep these feelings and attitudes with us during our normal life throughout our life. So let us hope friends so that we can all pass in this test of Allah and achieve the goal and become good people.

I will finish today's post by wishing that, may Allah accepts all of our fastings, forgive our sins and guide us to the true and peaceful path, and also that may Allah shower us all with His blessings throughout the year till our death. So, goodbye friends, enjoy your fasting, have a blast of Eid preparation. You will get our Eid special post, let us see how, if, Eid is connected to science.

So, till our next post, be healthy, passionate and keep blogging.
